Following on the success of the International Riesling Symposium 2011 in the Rheingau region, top producers of Pinot Noir from around the world will be meeting in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the Ahr valley on 25th and 26th February 2012 to celebrate the International Pinot Noir Symposium.

The German Centre for Tourism (DZT) and the German Wine Insitute have entred into a cooperation contract for the promotion of wine, culture and enjoyment in Germany, as a tourist destination.

The first grapes for ice wine were picked in the early hours of the 17th of January. Thus, the vintage will not go down in history as a complete loss in terms of ice wine.

There will be no competition to select a new wine queen for Franken this year. As there is only one entrant in pursuit of the honour, there will simply be a party to celebrate.

The overseas wine producing countries Argentina, Chile, California, New Zealand and South Africa will be presenting their joint tastings at this year's ProWein show under the umbrella motto of "Flavours".
